Letters and photographs attributed to Leo Bestall during World War I. Letters are held in a Lady Jane Full Fashioned Hosiery Box.

a) Two letters from Leo Bestall to his mother dated 1 June 1916 and 9 September 1916. Letters are from 1 New Zealand General Hospital, Brockenhurst and France respectively.

b) Two photographs of mosques.

c) One post card entitled: Loading hospital train for Maleno. Written from Brock Station by Leo Bestall.

d) Multiple letters beginning 6 June 1918 written from 1 New Zealand General Hospital, Brockenhurst. As of 18 June 1918 the letters are numbered starting with 111 and ending 15 December1918 with number 132.
