Brief Description
Tour and speech notes by Leo Bestall. A selection of miscellaneous tour and speech notes:

a) Single page outlining the trips and tours conducted by the Church Army 2 N Z E F around Egypt. Typed, not dated, not attributed to an author.

b) Single page titled: Notes on the Coptic Churches Trip. Typed, not dated, not attributed to an author.

c) Single page of speech notes. Not titled. Could be a speech to Church Missionary Society in Egypt and is about the differences between Egypt and New Zealand. Notes are incomplete, typed, not dated, editing is in Bestall's hand writing.

d) Two copies of a two page speech and notes on the Coptic Church of Abu Sarge titled: A Place of Pilgrimage. Editing is in Bestall's hand writing, typed, copy two is date stamped 5 Aug 1946.

e) A two page speech titled: A Plea for Tolerance. This speech is about how to approach a stay in Egypt and it's people. Typed, not dated, not attributed to an author.

f) Five pages of handwritten notes which form an introduction to Egypt with emphasis on the importance of the Nile. Not dated or titled, by Leo Bestall.

g) Four pages of typed notes on Egyptian recent history and governance, and a draft handwritten on green paper. Not dated, L D Bestall handwritten at top of first page, and draft is in Bestall's hand writing.

h) Thirteen pages of notes for an address to a Church Parade, possibly an introductory speech to soldiers new to the area. Pages are numbered 192 to 204 and he spoke about the headings: fear, language, belief, and a war of freedom. Typed, not titled or dated.

i) Seven pages notes titled: The Suez Canal. Typed with handwritten editing by Bestall, signed Mr L D Bestall, not dated.

j) A page from a set of unidentified speech notes on learning the lesson from of the past in relation to Egypt. Not titled, dated, or attributed to an author.

k) A page of handwritten notes titled: Legacy of Egypt. Not dated.

l) Single sheet of tour notes titled: Egyptian History. Typed with editing in Bestall's hand writing, not dated.
