Brief Description
Map of Syria and Iraq. Produced in French. Title: Carte de la Syrie et d'Irak.
Scale 1:500,000.

Topographical map showing sea lanes, frontiers, oil pipe lines, principal routes, cities and towns from Turkey, the Mediterranean Sea, Syria, Palestine to Mossouk and Baghdad in Iraq. Lebanon is not included in the map as yet. The map is enclosed in a small booklet with L Bestall's signature on the cover.
No date but was filed with Leo Bestall's maps from World War II and is pre 1947, as Israel has yet to be a state. Hand drawn marking of a route close to the Mediterranean coastline and travelling through Palestine and Syria has been added in black ink with crosses marking Nazareth, Haiffa, Beyrouth, Damas, and Baalbeck.
