Object detail
Brief Description
Four copies of the same souvenir card from Gethsemane in Jerusalem.
The front cover is illustrated with a black and white image of a relief sculpture depicting the moment when an angel visits Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. Inside the small souvenir card is a daily prayer for the dying and, glued to the opposite side, an olive leaf from the garden of Gethsemane.
On the back of the souvenir is a text titled, The Good Work of the Holy Land, which describes the work of the Friars Minor in Jerusalem.
Though undated, these documents were found with the part of L D Bestall's collection that dates from WWII when he was in the Middle East.
