Brief Description
The booklet Views of Old Wellington 1840 to 1870 contains photographs and copies of Brees paintings from the 1840 to1870 era.
Each image has a description such as on page 27: The Noah's Ark Store, Mr John Plimmer's eccentric structure, built on the stranded hulk of the Inconstant. The Bank of New Zealand now occupies this site. When the foundations were being prepared the old ship's timbers, still sound, were unearthed.
There are advertisements for Wellington's businesses at the back.
