a) Speech details museum and art gallery visits in England. Discusses the Courtauld Institute and Mr Constable, the Director, the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, a visit to an exhibition of Jacob Epstein's work in a Leinster gallery and the National Gallery. Talks in more detail about the display techniques in Manchester and at the Fitzwilliam where he also met Sir Sidney Cockerell, the Director.

Written on a letterhead featuring a ship entitled: P&O On board SS Moldavia.

b) Speech in which Bestall says he was asked by Rotarian Charles P to talk to Rotary about his trip to Australia. He and his wife sailed on the Monowian on May 6 and spent time in Sydney, Canberra, Albany, Melbourne and the Blue Mountains. Return journey was on the Wangonella.

Talks at length about the architecture, restaurants and night life in Sydney and shows they saw. Talks about the museums and art galleries and how disappointed they were that they had not improved since they had last been in Australia, 12 years ago. Mentions the Rotary meetings he attended in Sydney and Melbourne and also the transport systems, as well as Canberra and the benefits of planned capital cities.
