Brief Description
Leo Bestall's MBE certificate and accompanying letters in a large envelope.
a) Certificate featuring printed calligraphy with Leonard Delabere Bestall Esquire, the rank of Ordinary Member, and the date of the award, June 9, 1949. Signed by Mary R, the Sovereign's Command Grand Master. In the top left corner the seal of empire is embossed into the paper and there are also two watermarks featuring a crown and royal insignia.
b) Letter from the Chancery asking that the recipient acknowledges the receipt of the Warrant of Appointment by returning an attached form.
c) Included in the envelope a with compliments slip from Government House, Auckland, dated 30 December 1949.
d) Large envelope which has the Chancery's heraldic seal on the closer flap and has Leonard D Bestall, Esquire, MBE handwritten on the front.
