Letter and envelope from Government House, Wellington, to Leo Bestall for an MBE investiture ceremony and dated 6 September 1949.
a) Leo Bestall's invitation to MBE investiture ceremony. Dated and signed by the Official Secretary. Typed on letterhead which features the Government House insignia. Addressed to L D Bestall, Esquire, MBE, Lighthouse Road, Napier.
Invitation states that the Investiture will be held at Government House, Wellington, at 10:30 am on Wednesday, 5 October 1949. Each recipient could be accompanied by three friends or relatives, although children under the age of ten years were not permitted.The dress code was as such: Service recipients to wear uniform or lounge cloths, female civilians were to wear day dress, and male civilians morning dress or lounge suit. If the invitation were to be accepted the recipient would be notified at a later date as to the specifics of the ceremony.
