Letter to the Be Our Guest competition from Alan Goss about his memories of the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake, titled: That was a Beaut.

Alan Goss was eight years old and a pupil at Port School on 3 February 1931. His father picked him up from school. Alan had a sister Jill, and a cousin Shirley Boardman. His family stayed with the Alexander family in Church Road, Taradale, and later with relatives in Woodville.
