Brief Description
Letter, photograph and envelope to the Be Our Guest competition by Mavis Jensen. She writes about her memories of the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.

a) Letter by Mavis Jensen.

b) Photograph. Mavis, aged 14, and a family friend outside a damaged house in May Avenue, Napier. On the back of the photograph she writes that the house shown was a large two-storied brick house that was so heavy the ground floor sank entirely out of sight, just showing the top floor above ground. She believes the Treston family lived there.

c) Envelope addressed to: Miss D Ives. The envelope has a New Zealand 45 cent stamp.
