Brief Description
Letter and photographs to the Be Our Guest competition from Margaret Wilton. Margaret writes about her memories of the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.

a) Letter from Margaret Wilton. Margaret was six years old at the time of the 1931 earthquake and was at Nelson Park School in Napier. She remembers that everything went topsy turvy. Her grandmother, who had been travelling to town on the old Chequer bus, came to find her at school. The family lived on Kennedy Road but went to stay at Tent City (which she writes was at McLean Park). Her father had a pilot's licence and made flights over the area after the earthquake.

b) Printed copies of photographs of Margaret's home in Kennedy Road, the family home in Tent City and that of an unknown damaged house.
