Brief Description
Entry to the Be Our Guest competition by Ross Dunn. Ross writes about memories of the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.

Ross had a brother Gerald (known as Tim), who was to have his first day at Napier Central School on 3 February 1931. He would turn five on 12 February. Ross and Gerald's older brother Bill, who was seven years old, was delegated to contact Tim at playtime. The boys were collected by a family member after the quake and made it home to Shakespeare Terrace. Gerald was reluctant to return to school after the quake. Ross was a baby at the time.
