Letter to the Be Our Guest competition from Bill Simpson about his memories of the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.
Bill Simpson and his family were visiting friends in Hastings en route north back to Morrinsville. His father was a builder who built some trial mud brick houses around Hastings that survived the earthquake. Included are photocopies of photographs of the damage caused by the earthquake.
