Brief Description
Letter to the Be Our Guest competition. Joan Horrill nee Franklin writes about her memories of the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.

Joan was a pupil at Napier Girls' High School at the time of the earthquake and was at school when the earthquake struck. She had to walk to her home and recalls what she saw on her journey and the condition of her own home when she arrived. Joan was sent to Wellington to be billeted and attended Wellington East Girls' College.
