Watercolour on paper depicting the plant Desmoschoenus spiralis also known as Ficinia spiralis, pingao, pikao, Tane's eyebrows and golden sand sedge.

The plant has several long and narriow green, gold, brown and copper coloured leaves. In the centre are clusters of dark brown flowers.
