Watercolour on paper depicting the plant Veronica hulkeana also known as New Zealand lilac.
The brown branches are long and slender with a number of green leaves. The tips of the branches are filled with small blossoming white and lilac flowers and buds. In the bottom left corner there are two small sketches of the flower buds.
