About this object
Watercolour on paper depicting the plant Loranthus adamsii also known as Trilepidea adamsii and Adams mistletoe.
The plant has light purple tubular flowers with spiky flowering heads. The leaves are shades of green with some having purple undertones.
In her book The Native Flowers of New Zealand, Hetley describes this plant as a new species of Loranthus. This plant, she states, is a small bush specimen of two to three feet in height with large peculiar shaped flowers which flower during the months of September to October.
