Brief Description
The diary was written by Maria Townshend as she travelled from Plymouth to New Zealand.

She writes that she landed in Auckland and travelled to Napier. The diary is written on the right hand side pages; at the end she turned the book over and kept writing. She started writing in ink and then wrote in pencil. At one point a passenger has written a note continuing the diary because Mrs Townshend was seasick. Written in pencil and on lined paper.
