About this object
Watercolour on paper depicting the plant Senecio perdicioides. The plant is also know as Brachyglottis perdicioides, raukumara, puarangitoto or East Cape Brachyglottis.

The stalks of the branch are painted brown with various shades of green leaves and a number of crowded clusters of three petalled yellow flowers. In the bottom corner are two sketches of the flower buds.
