About this object
Watercolour on paper depicting the plant Metrosideros tomentosa otherwise known as pōhutukawa.

The plant has grey branches with oval green leaves with grey undersides. The flowers are bristly and red with yellow tips. There is a small sketch to the right of the painting.

Written along the bottom of the work is: New Zealand. Original of Native Flowers of New Zealand.
