About this object
Watercolour on paper depicting three different plants. The plants have been numbered one to three.

1 Polypodium billardieri also known as Notogrammitis billardierei or common strap fern. There are two examples of the plant in the painting. The smaller leaf is long and narrow coloured green with yellow circles. The other example is green with yellow tones and is fern-like in appearance with prominent veins.

2 Doodia caudata also known as small rasp fern. There are two examples of the plant in the painting. Both are fern-like in appearance. One has red fronds, and the other has green fronds covered with small brown dots.

3 Asplenium flaccidum also known as hanging spleenwort, drooping spleenwort, weeping spleenwort and makawe. The plant is fern-like in appearance with blue-green fronds and amber highlights.
