About this object
Watercolour on paper depicting three different plant species.

1 Lygodium articulatum also known as mangemange, bushman's mattress and makamaka. The plant has very slender stems of brown and long narrow green leaves.

2 Adiantum hispidulum also known as rosy maidenhair fern, rough maidenhair fern and five-finger jack. The plant is fern-like in appearance with slender stems and dark red and green fronds/leaflets.

3 Polypodium cunninghamii also known as Loxogramme dictyopteris or lance fern. The plant is a long narrow green frond with large brown circles known as sori.
