Brief Description
In the booklet: Carnival in Napier.N.Z. Health and Pleasure Resort and official itinerary, Napier is called, the Brighton of New Zealand.

Some of the competitions include: Great Māori Demonstration and Sports, Hawke's Bay Lawn Tennis Association open championship tournament, N.Z. Amateur Swimming Association Championships, Athletic and Cycling gala, military tournament, fete for children and rowing regatta.

The contents also include aspects of life in Napier in 1908 such as the town, residences, Marine Parade, bathing, gardens, churches, shipping facilities, hotels and boarding houses, Whare-O-Maraenui Reserve, Cape Kidnappers, Ōmarunui, rowing, yachting and motor launches and fishing.
