Copy of a letter. The original letter, dated 30 January 1840, was printed privately by William Colenso on behalf of James Busby, inviting chiefs to Waitangi for a hui to meet the newly arrived Consul Captain William Hobson. The text is written in Māori.
Printed at bottom is 'Copy of letter summoning Chiefs to attend the Treaty of Waitangi'
