The note reads: Sirs, I beg to remind you that your Seat Rents are now due for the Half-Year beginning 1 October and I will feel obliged by your paying the amounts, as noted beneath, at your earliest convenience. Your truly, James Wingate, Treasurer.
There is a handwritten note at the bottom that says: this payment will include your seat rents till 1 July 1875. Printed form with dates, figures, and details handwritten in ink. One penny stamp duty.
