Brief Description
The postcard depicts a coloured sketch of a couple embracing and the words: Leaving Akaroa, parting is such sweet sorrow. Shakespeare is written above and below. There is a green half penny stamp affixed to the back of the postcard. The stamp is post marked 19 April 1912. The postcard is addressed to W A Harding, Greenmeadows (crossed out) Taradale (in red ink), Napier. Written on the back is: Accompanying picture faintly expresses my grief on leaving this morning that you had all decamped early by motor. Kindly beg Mrs Harding to accept with will (?) for deed as pictured, & with love to Wilfred and best wishes for the future to you all. Signed W H Henning.
