Letter from William Fitzherbert, Crown Law Office, Wellington, to Donald McLean, Napier, dated 2 November 1865.

The letter concerns land that Donald McLean applied for on Mr Kelham's run, that the land will be put up for public auction.

It reads: Sir, The plans of the 5/ land applied for by you on Mr Kelham's run having been ready for some time I have the honor to inform you that it will be put up to public auction on Tuesday the 19 December next unless I hear from you that that day will not be convenient. An immediate reply is requested. I have the honor to be Sir, Your most obedt servant, William Fitzherbert, Crown Land Commissioner.

It appears that the letter has been written by a different hand, and then bears the signature of William Fitzherbert at the bottom.
