Letter from Bethune and Hunter, via the Lord Worsley, to Donald McLean, Auckland, dated 20 November 1861.

The letter informs Donald McLean that Bethune and Hunter have received a letter from London advising them of the price of wool they had sold after purchasing it from Donald McLean. They write that they had made a serious loss as the sale price they received was lower than expected. They also write that they hope the Māori question will be settled without any more fighting. The letter also mentions the stir on the Otago goldfields and Sir George Grey's government.
