Brief Description
Letter from Bethune & Hunter to Donald McLean via New Plymouth to Auckland dated 22 March 1861.
The letter informs Donald McLean that they have learnt from the Lyttleton Times that the Margarethe Roesner met with bad weather after leaving Napier and put in at Lyttleton after losing 200 sheep. The rest of the sheep were sold at Lyttleton. They say they have talked to Mr Pharazyn about the station accounts for Akitio and that no stock has sold and that Donald's proportion of the wool will not much more cover expenses.
