Object detail

Brief Description
Letter to from Bethune & Hunter, to Donald McLean, dated 21 June 1862.

The letter, with duplicate copy, includes a copy of account, dated 30 April 1862 for one hundred and eighty-nine pounds, eleven shillings and four pence. The letter asks Donald McLean to sign the front, not the back of the enclosed invoice, as he had erroneously done to the previous invoice, hence another copy being sent. It states in the letter that as McLean might visit Napier before travelling to England, they are sending a copy to Napier as well as to Auckland. There is a copy of the letter on blue paper that has been sent to Auckland, and a copy on white paper that has been sent to Napier. Both letters have a blue two pence stamp and were sealed with red sealing wax stamped with: B & H. The letters and account are attached at the top left with two eyelets.
