Brief Description
Letter from Donald Ferguson, to Donald McLean, dated 23 Jan 1862, in reply to Donald McLean's letter of 6 Jan 1862.

The address at the bottom of the letter is to D McLean Esq, Land Commissioner. Donald McLean asked for money to settle a land purchase made by Donald Ferguson. Mr Ferguson replied that he paid all the money due to Donald McLean through Donald's agents, Bethune and Hunter. He also makes other complaints about the sale of the land, saying that the boundaries were wrong and they worked land that turned out not to be theirs. He says that the Rangitikei River is taking more of his land at every flood and that the Māori are getting more insolent every day.
