Brief Description
A poem entitled: Come down the Wanganui, written in Māori and English.

Underneath the poem are watercolour and ink drawings showing people waving farewell to a group of people in a canoe. The author of the poem is unknown.

There is also another heading which reads: Powhiri to Dr Thacker.

The poem begins:

Come down the Wanganui
Floating in my canoe...
If you want to be my Dora
You will have to say Kia ora
