Brief Description
Douglas Mary McKain's diary and commonplace book. With the diary are photocopies and newspaper cuttings about the McKain, Villers and Greene families.
(a) The diary and commonplace book records lists of Douglas Mary McKain's patients and their accounts, along with household recipes, shopping lists, notes of current events and family news which include births of children and her children's marriages. It also contains copies of favourite poems and a number of original verses, for she had a great love of poetry.
(b) Herald-Tribune newspaper cutting about Mary Jane Villers and her family. Dated 21 April 1960.
(c) Some notes on the Isaac Septimus McKain branch of the family.
(d) Family tree for Douglas Mary McKain.
(e) Letter from Alexander Turnbull Library regarding copies of the diary from the microfilm. Dated 20 October 1978.
