About this object
Two acrylic on paper designs featuring Māori Motifs.

D67 depicts alternating rows of red and black 'blocks' or 'bars' with circle and triangle detailing on a white background. This design demostrates Higgs' reliance on a strict modernist gridded system while utilising the ball, bar and triangle traditionally found in the kowhaiwhai panels of Te Hau Ki Turanga.

D88 depicts black and red crescents with white circle and koru detailing on a khaki background.
