About this object
Two acrylic on paper designs featuring native New Zealand Hebe and native roses.
The top work tiltled 'Hebe' features native New Zealand hebe flowers coloured purple with green leaves and darker coloured detailing.
The lower work titled 'Native Rose (D10)' features light yellow and orange roses with pink buds and dark green leaves on a white background.
Hebe is a design by Avis Higgs' which incorporate highly iconographic New Zealand plants. The value of such designs lies in the simple stylistic representation of the plant rather than it's botanical status.
