Brief Description
Leaflet and note related to the Japanese Surrender during World War II.
a) Leaflet inviting remaining Japanese to surrender on Bougainville Island. would have been issued after the end of the war in late 1945.
Has red, white and blue decorations on the front. A line-drawing diagram of the islands is also on the front. There is Japanese writing on both front and back.
b) A small note addressed to the director of the museum. Explains how the donor acquired it and why they are donating it, but is not signed. It is dated 2 August 1954.
