Brief Description
Letter to George Preece, Resident Magistrate of Napier from Rēnata Kawepō of Ōmāhu. Handwritten in Māori.
The letter says that Tawhiao and his tribe have arrived at Ōmāhu. On Thursday 15 May and they will meet with him and if Preece is not concerned they will speak. It says that Preece should come and they will go together.
The letter is signed by Henare Tomoana, Renata Kawepo, Paora Kaiwhata, Toha and Manaena and all the chiefs.
This is Courthouse number 171/83 with envelope number 17.
