Brief Description
Two posters stuck together, both circa 1877. The first poster presents a chronological history of New Zealand and the second was produced for the Mutual Life Association of Australasia.

a) The title of the poster reads: Chronological Tree of New Zealand's History. The poster features a photo lithograph from the original pen and ink drawing by James McKain Meek and shows a chronological tree of New Zealand history including the European discovery of New Zealand, an abridged history from 1798 to 1840, a map of the North and South Island, Australasia, and a map of the world showing mail routes.

b) Advertisement poster for the Mutual Life Association of Australasia with information on local branches. The poster features an image of a metal engraving representing a father protecting his wife and child while trying to kill a big cat.
