Letter written in Māori to George Preece, resident Magistrate of Napier from Te Hāpuku of Mohaka.
a) Letter written in Māori.
b) Te Hāpuku writes that neither him nor Preece can agree as to who should be the policeman for the area and suggests that there be no one appointed at all. The translator has signed it Te Hukupa instead of Te Hāpuku as it is signed in the original.
