Letter written in Māori from H N Te Aroatua of Takapau to George Preece, Resident Magistrate of Napier. A translation into English is also included.

b) Translation of original letter. H N Te Aroatua states that Henare Tomoana has requested a survey of Takapau from the Government and that Otawhao will be investigated as well. H N Te Aroatua objects to his land around Takapau being investigated by government officials and insists he will have this done himself.
