Brief Description
Letter written in Māori from H N Te Aroatua of Takapau to Captain Preece, Resident Magistrate of Napier. H N Te Aroatua requests that his and Henei Paketia's names be wiped from a document supplied by Henare Matua. He explains that they had not provided him with consent to include their names. H N Te Aroatua also states that Tomoana and Henare Matua were not his partners in the sale of land for the rail line to the previous Government and that they have no claim to the land as they were not signatories to previous land deeds.
