a) Translation of original letter. Hare Pikai writes that Māori in the Waiapu District will think differently of a deal by the new year and that Ngatiporou have not acted according to the law. Pikai also states that he has ordered a survey of his land and that Wiremu Keipa is to survey the land at Waiapu.
