Telegram from John Brooking of Gisborne to George Preece, Resident Magistrate of Napier. Brooking writes to notify Preece that the election of Native Assessors will be advertised in that night's Herald, that there appears to be no local Māori unless around Maungapohatu and that Morice's woolshed has been chosen as the place of nomination because it is near the centre of the district.
