Brief Description
Letter from T W Lewis, Under Secretary of the Native Office in Wellington
to George Preece, Resident Magistrate of Napier. The author acknowledges the receipt of Preece's letter dated 20 January 1883 and writes regarding the survey of the lands within the Mohaka and Waikare Blocks. Under the agreement made with the Natives the land is made inalienable and is not intended to enforce the survey lien unless legislation should authorise alienation.
