Brief Description
Two translations of land deeds from 1864 and a manuscript from 1882.
a) A translation of the land deed for Donald McLean's purchase on behalf of the Crown of Puketitiri from Te Makarini on 16 June 1864 for the sum of £400. Signed by 22 local Māori. Translated by James Grindell and witnessed by P Locke as Government Surveyor of Napier and G T Fannin, Superintendent Clerk for Napier.
b) A translation of the land deed for Donald McLean's purchase on behalf of the Crown of Te Kaweka from Te Makarini on 15 June 1864 for the sum of £300. Signed by 18 local Māori. Translated by James Grindell and witnessed by P Locke as Government Surveyor of Napier.
c) A manuscript dated 30 December 1882 about the land purchase of Ahuriri including Puketitiri land.
