Brief Description
Letter from Paora Ropiha to George Preece, Resident Magistrate of Napier. There are two letters: the original letter and a translation.

a) Letter written in Māori and signed by Paora Ropiha, Hori Ropiha, Renata no Nepe, Te Apatu, Ereatana te Kuru, Henare Matua Nopera, Matiua Meke Na and Rupuka.

b) Translation of original letter with date in Māori. Paora Ropiha writes about the people (cited in the letter) who waited for Preece who did not show. They request an adjournment until the end of wheat and oat harvesting as many of them are anxious to be present at the meeting. The assembly place was in Waipawa.
