Napier Borough Council Building Permits and copies:
(a) Book of Napier Borough Council Building Permits issued between 17 June 1937 and 8 April 1938. There are 100 permits in total. Each permit is numbered from 501 to 600 and includes the date, applicant, owner, locality and section, materials and estimated cost. Each entry is signed by the Building Inspector, E Grant, and a second party whose signature is difficult to decipher.
(b) Building Permit number 512. This is the blue paper copy torn from the above book in which the duplicate is kept.
(c) Building Permit number 513. This is the blue paper copy torn from the above book in which the duplicate is kept.
(d) Building Permit number 518. This is the blue paper copy torn from the above book in which the duplicate is kept.

(a) Hard cardboard covered in blue paper with blue cloth binding and a handwritten paper label attached to the spine. The pages of the book are made up of carbon copies of permits that were issued on blue paper. The stubs of these permits remain in between each page. The pages are printed in black ink on paper.
