This is a book of Napier Borough Council Building Permits issued between 7 August 1933 and 5 April 1934.
There are 100 permits in total. Each is numbered from 1 to 100 and includes the date, applicant, owner, locality and section, materials and estimated cost. Each entry is signed by the Building Inspector, E Grant, and a second party whose signature is difficult to decipher. Permit number 100 was used as a printing sample.

Hard cardboard covered in blue paper with blue cloth binding and a handwritten paper label attached to the spine. The pages of the book are made up of carbon copies of permits that were issued on blue paper. The stubs of these permits remain in between each page. The pages are printed in black ink on paper.
