Brief Description
Copies of four letters sent and received by Dr Thorpe regarding the Ōmarunui Conflict of 1866.

a) Undated letter to the Agent of the General Government Napier from Dr Thorpe regarding his involvement in the Ōmarunui conflict and claiming expenses for treating wounded men where no surgeon was available.

b) Letter to Dr Thorpe from Donald McLean dated 18 June 1867 regarding Dr Thorpe's claims for professional attendance of officers in the Colonial Forces during the Ōmarunui confrontation.

c) Letter to Dr Thorpe from George Whitmore dated 14 October 1866 thanking him for his treatment of the wounded during the Ōmarunui conflict.

d) Undated letter to the Agent of the General Government from Dr Thorpe giving an account of the treatment of wounded and previous claims for personal expenses.
