A talk given to the Historic and Arts Society at Napier, May 2, 1966 by C C Webb, about the Urewera Country with particular reference to the Rua Raid, printed as a booklet.
C C Webb records that most of his knowledge of the Urewera came from his wife whose home was at Te Whaiti where her father Andrew McGregor Grant was District Constable.
The booklet contains information about the Urewera, the community of Maungapohatu, the Police raid of Rua Kenana's stronghold at Maungapohatu which took place in 1916. There is also a brief biography of Rua Kenana, known as the Prophet who followed the Ringatu religion.
